Kim Victoria Cattrall born 21 August 1956 is the name of a British Canadian actor from Canada. Best known for the part as Samantha Jones in the HBO Sex and the City series for which she received nominations for five Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Award, winning the Golden Globe 2002 for the most outstanding supporting actress. Samantha Jones reprised her role in the film Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010). Before she began her acting career, she was an Swedish model. She won in the Miss Sweden competition. After she left Sweden for the US and was featured in numerous films as a small part, her career took off. The first role she was credited with was in the film Abbott and Costello Go to Mars where she played a Venusian guard. Soon after, her appearance as a bloody woman in Blood Alley won her the Golden Globe for Most Promising young actor.
